Partnering with Families to Make Disciples
Calvary Kids is a place where kids feel God’s immense love for all people while having fun learning about Jesus in an environment that is both age-appropriate and secure. In the process, Calvary Kids wants to come alongside families to help them become healthy and equipped and empower every kid to be a lifelong disciple of Jesus.
Under the Sea Nursery
(infant-age 2 1/2)
Sundays at 9:15am & 10:45am
Infants and toddlers, newborn to age 2 1/2, receive loving care and playtime fun in Calvary’s Under the Sea Nursery. Upon arrival, parents check-in at the Calvary Kids Check-In Desk, then receive a pager at nursery drop-off so you can be notified if your child needs assistance. A large picture window is present along one side of the nursery for you to view your little one from afar if desired.
Calvary Kids Preschool
(ages 2 1/2-5)
Sundays at 9:15am & 10:45am
Toddlers and preschoolers in Calvary Kids Preschool actively explore the Bible and learn of Jesus’ great love for them through music, stories, crafts, centers, and playtime.
Calvary Kids Elementary
Sundays at 9:15am
Children in Grades K-4 join their families in the Worship Center for Family Worship before being dismissed to Bible Crews mid-service. During Bible Crews, children gather with friends in Grades K-1-2 and Grades 3-4 for small group discipleship experiences where they dig deeper into God’s Word.
Calvary Kids Worship
Sundays at 10:45am
Children in Grades K-4 gather for Calvary Kids Worship. This large group worship experience includes music, drama, Bible presentation, and hands-on fun.
A private Nursing Room is available at the back of the main Worship Center where moms are welcome to feed, change diapers, or view services in a quiet, relaxing space.
What can I expect?
For safety, all children must be checked-in before attending Calvary Kids classes. A member of the Calvary Kids staff will assist you with check-in on your first visit. At check-in, children receive printed nametags with matching security receipts for parent pick-up. On following visits, you will be able to complete check-in yourself at our Self-Check-In Kiosk.
Each member of our Calvary Kids Ministry Team is screened by a detailed application process, federal background check, and training. A minimum of two adult team members are present in each classroom at all times to ensure safety and quality care. Only screened adults are permitted in Calvary’s classrooms.
Calvary Kids provides age-appropriate classroom environments and programming for children ages newborn-Grade 4 during Sunday morning services.
Each week children receive a Family Connection detailing the Bible story, Key Passage, and theme. Parents are encouraged to use these as a guide for discussion and review at home. Visit the Calvary Kids Check-In Desk to inquire about parent and family resources from Calvary’s Family Resource Library.
Due to allergies, we ask that no outside food be brought into Calvary Kids Preschool and Calvary Kids Elementary classrooms during Sunday services. Calvary Kids is a peanut-free/nut-free environment. Please let us know at check-in if your child has an allergy or special need.
Screening Process for Adults
Calvary Kids Children’s Ministries values our adult caregivers and leaders! If you are interested in serving as a part of Calvary Kids:
- See Emily McCulla, Director of Children’s Ministries, to discuss your interest and to receive details about available service opportunities.
- Complete a Calvary Kids Children’s Ministry Application with references.
- Complete a federal background check.
- Conversation/interview with a children’s ministry leader.
- Review and sign the Church Policies Statement.

“The Church of the Nazarene has adopted a zero tolerance policy for sexual misconduct and inappropriate behavior with minors. All workers, leaders, and pastoral staff are to be above reproach in their conduct and to act in the best interest of others. This requires not only that they themselves refrain from engaging in any abusive or suspicious behavior involving minors; they will also be required to report without delay to the proper authorities anyone seen engaging in such behavior.”
